東京ドーム

January 18, 2009 – 8:46 pm

The Tokyo Dome is a big hall where different events take place (sports (especially baseball), concerts). The form of the hall is a bit like an egg.

Around the Dome is “Tokyo Dome City” – an amusement place with a ferris wheel, rollercoaster. At specific times you can visit a nice water perfomance with music at the heart of the amusement park (really really nice when it’s dark <3)
You can access Tokyo Dome via Suidobashi Station (水道橋駅) on the Chuo-line (中央線).

New Year is approaching

December 28, 2008 – 10:53 pm

2008 is nearly over. So I hope you had a nice year and will have a good new year 2009 =).

This years last picture is the Imperial Palace(皇居) of the Japanese emperor. The picture shows the “normal” view of it as it’s open for public only twice a year: new year and the birthday of the current emperor.

It is located in the heart of Tokyo, easy reachable by Tokyo Main Station by a short walk. The palace is sourrounded by a big area of parks, where you can take a walk. The sounds of the city around you doesn’t reach you there, so it is really pleasant.

A few weeks ago I got my new “friend” – a Casio ExWord XD-GP7150.

It’s an electronical dictionay for Japanese <-> German and Japanese <-> English and you can jump between the languages as well. That’s very helpful, as some entries are not not in German but in English.

The most comfortable thing for me is currently the “pad” where I can write the needed Kanji with a stylus. As I’m still on my way to the 1.000 Kanji mark so it’s really really helpful for reading and understanding.

So far I can recommend this one.
